Incoming Ateneo freshmen, good luck and have fun!

ed-edd-n-eddy asked: Hi! Can you help me? I really, really, really want to get into Ateneo but I failed the exam. I heard there's no recon which is even more depressing. Any tips? Do you think it would be stupid if I send in an appeal even if it's exclusive for those wait listed? I thought of this because not all who got accepted would be entering, and not all waitlisted would bother to send in an appeal.

Hi!

It’s your choice whether you send an appeal or not but I’m not sure if the administration would reply or not. I know Ateneo is very strict with these things so I can’t be sure but I wish you luck though! It’s going to be a long wait for a reply, if they ever reply, though so I just want to say that there are lots of other good universities other than Ateneo and you might want to keep your options open. There’s always the option of transferring after a year too. So don’t worry too much! :)

Maybe a lot of you are still confused regarding your choice of course for incoming college freshmen. Maybe others are thinking of shifting too. Before making big decisions, you might want to read this article and I hope this helps a lot!

There are many issues regarding the safety of the students, most especially the incoming freshman and I would just like to tell you, it’s alarming what has happened, but take note it happened outside the campus. The campus is so far a safe place for students to study though there are many points to which everybody can improve on. There is so much happening with in and outside the University, that it is not fair to limit the students to curfew to which cannot really be monitored or followed.

Now, there are more police posts outside the campus and a shuttle to bring home students from late night study sessions and more are becoming aware on the issue of safety.

Do not be scared to enter the University, just take the precautions you need to prevent these mishaps. Stay in 24 hours coffee shops, like what I’m doing now, if you don’t have anybody to accompany you as you head home. Stay in Mcdo, it’s 24 hours and there are always people there. Ask the Emergency Response team to take you home. Go home early. Use food delivery, trust me there’s a lot and during the summer I might post them here :). Relax, find a dorm close to the university. It doesn’t have to be the University dorm. I’ll also try to find a list by the end of next week.

I wish you will not be afraid because Los Banos is a very beautiful place I thought it’d just be a stepping stone, but I fell in love with the place, you might too. :)

I hope to see some of you soon.

Anonymous asked: Would you recommend that I take a double-major course in DLSU? I'm thinking of taking ARTS-BUS (ISJ + Managagement)

are you referring to liacom? arts and commerce? yes! I am actually a lia-com student, Psychology and Business Management and you can take it for 5 YEARS! Only! Imagine that! :) You’ll graduate with two degrees! :)
